The Wrestling Edge

Dr. Jim Winges

Maximize your wrestling performance. Dr. Jim Winges presents techniques that he has used for the past 22 years to train some of the worlds best athletes. The Wrestling Edge uses a straightforward approach to create a foundation of mental training to assist wrestlers in developing the mental side of their game and maximizing performance. Develop your focus, confidence, mindset, attitude, mindfulness, & performance philosophy to take your wrestling to the next level. The Cherokee Trail Edition was specifically made for Cherokee Trail Wrestling containing skills that Dr. Winges has utilized with wrestlers across the nation to help them achieve their goals and reach the next level.

Uniforms and Gear

WARM UPS: 24-25 season gear is going to be updated.  Wrestlers are required to purchase and wear the CT Warm-ups package and they MUST be worn at duals and on the podium!  Wrestlers who have previously purchased a Scrap Life package have the option to wear this package at meets/podium or they can purchase the updated package.   New wrestlers will purchase the new package and Varsity wrestlers are required to purchase the new package.

TEAM TUESDAY:  Wrestlers are REQUIRED to wear the gray CT wrestling practice shirt and navy shorts on TUESDAYS.  

​

SINGLETS/GEAR: Singlets are provided AT tournaments and duals and are to be returned before leaving each tournament/dual.   Wrestlers may NOT take singlets home (unless instructed by coaches). Wrestlers may wear the wrestling shoes and headgear of their choosing.  These are not provided by the school.

Health and Nutrition

PREVENTING SKIN ISSUES: It is important that the wrestlers help clean the mats every day and keep themselves clean to prevent the spread of skin problems.  

 

-Shower immediately after practice/meets

-Use head & shoulders and defense body wash in the shower.  

-Clean gear with a sanitzer 

-Do not wear wrestling shoes outside of the mat 

-Clean body with defense wipes

-Report any skin issues to coach IMMEDIATELY!

FIT REPUBLIC: CT Wrestling partners with Fit Republic Southlands for nutrition and meal prep for your wrestler.  Your wrestler will receive a free body scan and suggestions for products that fit your athlete's  needs, as well as provides a discount for Cougar Wrestlers.

Dues and Fees

Wrestlers are required to purchase a gear package (if they do not yet have one).  In addition to yearly wrestling dues.  24-25 dues are $300.  â€‹

There are many ways your athlete can raise funds to cover the cost of their dues and gear.   Join or view our band app for more information
